Timothy Rasmussen is a business broker of the well-known Svn | Chicago Commercial business brokerage company who helps people sell their business in IL and nearest regions. Tim Rasmussen serves as an Associate Advisor for Sperry Van Ness LLC, specializing in the sale and lease of commercial hospitality property throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. Mr. Rasmussen has been both a developer and a restaurant owner, and understands all sides of real estate development. Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Rasmussen was Principal of Chicago Restaurant Corporation for 20 years, owning and operating a string of popular Chicago restaurants including Anteprima, Acre, Ombra, Joe’s Be-Bop Café, Charlie’s Ale House, and Carlucci Restaurant. During that time he was also continuously active as Managing Broker of Rasmussen Realty Advisors, a development company. Recent projects include the transformation of a 22,000 square foot parking garage in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood into a mixed use retail and light manufacturing building. Tenants include Athletico, Uptown Animal Hospital and a Metropolis Coffee roasting facility; and the renovation of a 6,200 square foot former resale shop into a multi-tenant retail and office building. Recent transactional work includes the sale of a two acre site in Wheaton, Illinois, to Chick-fil A, and a catering facility to Aramark. In an earlier role as Executive Vice President of Leasing for Hawthorn Realty Group, Rasmussen oversaw an 8.5 million square foot portfolio of office and industrial properties in Rosemont, Lincolnshire, Lincolnwood, and Oak Brook, among other locations. A licensed real estate broker in Illinois since 1993, Rasmussen is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, and earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.
