Since 1981, he has been a speaker in annual programs of the California, Washington, and Colorado Restaurant Associations. He was honored by the Irvine Company as Broker of the Year 2001 for his restaurant real estate work on his BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse deal at the Tustin Marketplace in Irvine, Orange County, California. He pursued his education through the California State University system, receiving a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology with a specialty in Organizational Development and Human Resources.Mr. Spilky is a member of the California Association of Realtors, California Restaurant Association, International Council of Restaurant Brokers, Association of Commercial Real Estate, International Council of Shopping Centers, serves on The Jewish Federation of Los Angeles Cabinet and the San Diego State University School of Hospitality Advisory Board.
