Ed Pendarvis is a Charleston business broker of the well-known Sunbelt - Charleston business brokerage company who helps people sell their business in Charleston , SC and nearest regions. Mr. Ed Pendarvis, CBI, is Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Sunbelt Network. He is a 1965 graduate of The Citadel, in Charleston, S.C. He served two years active duty in the United States Army Artillery. Mr. Pendarvis had a successful career in real estate sales and development before joining Sunbelt. Associated with Sunbelt since 1983, he has participated in or managed the sale of over 1,000 businesses. He has been a guest instructor in business brokerage for the Texas, Florida and California Association of Business Brokers, as well as the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA). Mr. Pendarvis is also a Real Estate Broker, a former member of the South Carolina Better Business Bureau Board of Directors and of the IBBA Board of Directors, where he served as membership chairman. Mr. Pendarvis was made a "fellow" in the IBBA, and he was awarded the prestigious Tom West Award in 2006 for his contribution to the IBBA and business brokerage industry. Based on his experiences, Pendarvis wrote a "how to" book, "Buying a Business to Secure Your Financial Freedom", and it was published by McGraw-Hill in 2005. Thousands of copies have been sold to folks interested in owning or selling their own business. Pendarvis also serves on The Citadel School of Business Administration Advisory Board and in 2007 was inducted into The Citadel Business School Hall of Fame. He received the state of South Carolina's highest civilian honor, "The Order of the Palmetto" from Governor James B. Edwards (R) in 1988 for work with the American Legion Palmetto Boys State Program and from Governor Richard W. Riley (D) in 1983 for work with the Board of the Juvenile Correction Institution. Married to the former Elaine Bowen of Charleston, SC. They have five beautiful daughters and six wonderful grandchildren.
